TARABA STATE GOVERNMENT HOLDS INTERDENOMINATIONAL CHURCH SERVICE TO HONOR ARMED FORCES CELEBRATION AND REMEMBRANCE DAY

The Taraba State Government yesterday held an interdenominational church service at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cathedral, Mile Six Jalingo, to commemorate Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day. The event was attended by top government officials, security agencies, and clergy members.

Chief Barr. Gebon Timothy Kataps Ngwii, Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), represented His Excellency, Governor Agbu Kefas. In his remarks, Chief Kataps Ngwii commended the military for their unwavering dedication to protecting the nation’s unity, security, and peace. “We honor the memories of our fallen heroes who have paid the ultimate price for our nation’s peace and security. We also celebrate the bravery and resilience of our military personnel who continue to defend our nation’s sovereignty,” he said.

Hon. Dr. Augustina Godwin, Commissioner of Education, praised the sacrifices of the military personnel and their families. “We recognize the importance of the military in maintaining peace and security in our nation. We appreciate their sacrifices and those of their families,” she said.

General Jeremiah Faransa Aliyu (Rtd) also spoke at the event, emphasizing the need for unity and collective effort in addressing security challenges. “We must continue to support our military personnel and work together to build a more peaceful and secure Nigeria,” he said.

The event featured prayers, hymns, and a wreath-laying ceremony to honor the memories of Nigeria’s fallen heroes. Other dignitaries who attended the event included the Commissioner of Police, Commissioner of Social Justice and Re-integration, Hon. Dr. Filister Irariman Musa, and Commissioner of Digital Economy and Innovations, Hon. Nonso Mbaso Samuel, among others.
