Tangale Community Receives Aid After Herdsmen Attack

A humanitarian effort led by the Kwagam Tangle Socio-cultural organization, in partnership with Thrive Wellspring for Sustainable Development Initiative, has provided relief to victims of the recent herdsmen attack in Powishi Kalmai, Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.

The donation, aimed at alleviating the suffering of those affected, was facilitated by Col. Ishaya Maitims (Rtd), chairman of the group.

Each victim received N20,000 to aid in rebuilding their homes, the aid was facilitated by Thrive Wellspring Development Initiative and a total of 75 persons received donations

Gombe State Government has also intervened, donating relief materials worth millions of naira, including food items, blankets, and other essential supplies.

The government’s efforts have been commended by the community, but there are calls for more action to be taken against the perpetrators.

Comrade Danladi Bako, chairman of the board of trustees, urged the government to intensify efforts to bring the attackers to justice. David Sobok, program manager for Thrive Wellspring, praised the government’s efforts while emphasizing the need for further support.

The representative of the village head, Mr. Augustine Katty, thanked the aid providers and promised to distribute the donations fairly. Thrive Wellspring has pledged to extend more interventions to the affected community.
