Activist Allegedly Detained After Questioning N100 Million Allocation to Karim-Lamido LGA

Tension is reportedly rising in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area following the alleged arrest and detention of a young activist, Aliyu S. Alimoh, after he publicly questioned the management of funds allocated to the council.
According to information circulating on social media, Hon. Virginia Baba Bambur, Chairperson of the local government, is accused of ordering the arrest after the activist called for accountability over an alleged N100 million allocation.
Reports indicate that the Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, had earlier announced via his official social media platforms that N100 million was disbursed to each of the 16 Local Government Chairmen in the state, including Karim-Lamido LGA. The information was publicly accessible at the time of the activist’s comments.
Sources claim that Alimoh, known within his community for advocacy on governance and social justice issues, was detained for three days following a complaint reportedly linked to allegations of insult, defamation, and intimidation.
