KUTEBS CELEBRATE KUCHICHEB DAY, CALL FOR HARMONIOUS LIVING AND UNITY
Takum, Taraba State – The Kuteb Nation today celebrated Kuchicheb Day, a day set aside to commemorate their rich cultural heritage and traditions. The celebration, which took place across Takum, Ussa, Yangtu SDA, and other Kuteb communities, was marked by colourful cultural dances, music, and other festivities.
The Yatso Youth Association, in a press statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Prince Atisinde Ira, felicitated with the Kuteb Nation and urged citizens to embrace harmonious living, mutual respect, and understanding.
“As we celebrate Kuchicheb Day, we urge all citizens to come together and foster a spirit of unity and cooperation,” Prince Ira said. “We must eschew division and discord, and, instead, focus on building bridges of understanding and cooperation. Our diversity is our strength, and we must celebrate our differences, rather than letting them tear us apart.”
The association also cautioned against the misuse of social media, urging citizens to harness its power to promote love, tolerance, and unity.
“Social media can be a powerful tool for good or evil,” Prince Ira noted. “Let us use it to promote our values of love, respect, and understanding. Let us use it to build each other up, rather than tearing each other down. We must be responsible citizens, both online and offline.”
The Yatso Youth Association reaffirmed its loyalty and support to traditional rulers, including His Royal Highness Ukwe Takum, Rimamnyang Habu, and other respected leaders.
“We acknowledge the vital role that our traditional rulers have played in preserving our cultural heritage,” Prince Ira said. “We pledge our continued support and loyalty to them, as they continue to guide us and lead us on the right path.”
The association also pledged its support to the government of His Excellency DrDrgbu Kefas, urging citizens to cooperate with the government to build a more prosperous and peaceful society.
“We believe in the vision of our government, and we are committed to supporting them in any way we can,” Prince Ira said. “We urge all citizens to cooperate with the government, and to work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and our children.”
The celebration was attended by dignitaries from across the state, including traditional rulers, government officials, and community leaders.
The Kuteb Nation is one of the largest ethnic groups in Taraba State, known for their rich cultural heritage and traditions. Kuchicheb Day is celebrated annually to commemorate their cultural identity and to promote unity and harmony among citizens.
