The initiative included public campaigns, distribution of white canes, and advocacy for inclusive policies, fostering greater community support for visually impaired individuals across Taraba State.
2. Celebration of International Day for Older Persons: Under Dr. Musa’s leadership, the Ministry organised impactful programs to commemorate the International Day for Older Persons. These events honoured the contributions of the elderly, addressing their unique challenges through health screenings, social engagement activities, and advocacy for age-friendly policies, ensuring their dignity and well-being.
3. Commemoration of World Social Justice Day: Dr. Musa championed the observance of World Social Justice Day, promoting dialogue on equality, fairness, and inclusion. Currently awaiting assent by Governor Kefas, the bill promises to institutionalise policies for accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities, marking a significant step toward a disability-friendly Taraba.
8. Renovation of Social Welfare Offices: Dr. Musa initiated the renovation, refurbishment, and furnishing of social welfare offices in Wukari and Gembu Area Offices. These upgrades have modernised facilities, improved service delivery, and created a conducive environment for staff and beneficiaries accessing social welfare services.
9. Support for Remand Home: With timely interventions backed by Governor Kefas, Dr. Musa ensured sustained support for the Remand Home in Taraba State. This included provisions for food, clothing, and educational materials, improving the welfare and rehabilitation prospects of juveniles in custody.
10. Collaboration with Taraba State Revenue Service: Dr. Musa’s Ministry worked closely with the Taraba State Revenue Service to enhance revenue generation strategies. 17. Establishment of Special Needs Education Programs: A landmark achievement was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Taraba State University and Avean Gavel Consultancy Limited.
