Nzuta ISechap Receives Heroic Welcome Ahead of APGA Primaries in Ussa
Hon. Nzuta ISechap on Thursday received a heroic welcome from supporters and residents of Ussa Constituency as preparations intensify ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.
A mammoth crowd of supporters, party faithful, and well-wishers, according to eyewitness accounts, defied a heavy downpour to await his arrival at Ussa Junction in Takum Local Government Area. He was subsequently escorted to Ussa Local Government Area amid cheers and widespread jubilation.
In a symbolic display of solidarity with the people, Hon. Nzuta ISechap stepped out of his vehicle and rode on a motorcycle from Ussa Junction to Ussa Local Government, accompanied by an unprecedented procession of supporters.
Upon his arrival in Ussa, the aspirant proceeded to the palace of His Royal Highness, Kwe Ando Magudu, the Third Class Chief of Lissam Chiefdom, where he paid homage and sought royal blessings ahead of his political aspiration.
During the visit, Hon. Nzuta officially informed the royal father of his intention to contest for the Ussa Constituency seat in the Taraba State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2027 general election.
The monarch commended the aspirant for the respect shown to the traditional institution and advised him to conduct his campaigns peacefully while promoting unity and political tolerance throughout the electioneering period.
At a well-attended declaration event held at Kimu Hall, the Director-General of the campaign organisation, Comrade Ande Lodiya, declared that the era of effective representation had arrived, describing Hon. Nzuta ISechap as a candidate positioned for victory with the overwhelming support of the people.
Also speaking at the event, the APGA Chairman in Ussa Local Government Area, Hon. Joshua Urerimam, described APGA as the “people’s party” in Ussa, noting that the party had continued to enjoy widespread acceptance due to its people-oriented ideals and credible candidates.
Formally declaring his intention to contest, Hon. Nzuta ISechap said his decision was driven by passion and commitment to the development of Ussa Constituency.
He stated that having previously contested for the position, he had gained valuable political experience and lessons that have better prepared him for the task ahead.
“I have learnt from my previous election experience. I have taken corrections where necessary, and I am now fully prepared intellectually, mentally, and physically to provide effective and quality representation for my people. The time to support me is now,” he said.
The aspirant further stressed that his ambition was not borne out of personal rivalry, but from a genuine desire to advance the collective interest of the people.
“I am not in this contest to fight anyone, but to fight for what rightfully belongs to our people. I am not here to intimidate anyone except the enemies of our collective progress. All I need is your support and your votes,” he added.
One of the supporters who spoke during the event expressed optimism about the aspiration, stating that the people of Ussa Constituency had learned from past political mistakes and were determined to mobilise massive support for Hon. Nzuta ISechap ahead of the 2027 election.
