An Open Letter to His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, Executive Governor of Taraba State

General T.Y. Danjuma House, Jalingo, Taraba State

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13: “And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.”

Dear His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas,

On behalf of the good people of Sabon-Gida Lissam, the wider Ussa community, and all well-meaning Tarabans, we write this open letter with profound humility, gratitude, and patriotic zeal to express our heartfelt appreciation for your visionary leadership and transformative governance. Your administration has ushered in remarkable progress across Taraba State, and we are particularly grateful for the developmental strides witnessed in Sabon-Gida Lissam and beyond.

Your Excellency, the ongoing transformation of the Sabon-Gida Lissam football field and the near-completion of the General Hospital, poised for commissioning, stand as testaments to your commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Tarabans. These projects, coupled with the impactful initiatives of the PDP Restoration Movement, have revitalised our communities, fostering hope, resilience, and self-reliance.

At the forefront of these achievements is the Honourable Commissioner for Social Justice and Reintegration, Dr Filister Irarimam Musa, whose exemplary leadership has left an indelible mark on Ussa and Taraba State at large. Over the past two years, Dr. Musa has demonstrated unparalleled integrity, competence, and dedication to public service. Through her visionary programs, she has empowered our youth both male and female with grinding mills to promote economic self-sufficiency, distributed wrappers to aged parents, provided financial support to widows and widowers for healthcare, and extended educational relief to orphans. These initiatives have strengthened community bonds, enhanced productivity, and fostered a closer relationship between the government and the people.

Celebrating Two Years of Impactful Leadership

As we mark Dr. Filister Irarimam Musa’s two years in office, we celebrate her transformative contributions across Ussa and other communities, including, Fikyu, and Kunkufxang. Her achievements include:

Economic Empowerment: Distribution of agricultural tools and seedlings to farmers, boosting food security and economic growth in rural areas.

Youth and Women Development: Establishment of skill acquisition programs, such as tailoring and ICT training, equipping young people and women with marketable skills to foster entrepreneurship and reduce unemployment.

Healthcare Access: Facilitation of mobile health clinics to remote areas, ensuring vulnerable populations, including pregnant women and the elderly, receive essential medical care.

Education Support: Provision of scholarships and learning materials to underprivileged students, promoting access to quality education and reducing school dropout rates.

Community Infrastructure: Advocacy for the construction and rehabilitation of boreholes, classrooms, and community centers, improving the quality of life in underserved areas.

Dr. Musa’s inclusive leadership has fostered collaboration with local leaders, youth groups, and organizations like the Bible Society of Nigeria, Ussa Chapter. Her ability to listen, respect diverse opinions, and work for the greater good has created a united, motivated, and inspired society. As a woman of integrity, she balances her roles as a mother, wife, and politician with grace, proving that leadership transcends gender. Her focus on long-term development, equitable resource distribution, and stakeholder engagement has made her a beacon of hope and a model for ethical governance.

A Call for Continued Support

Matthew 10:42: “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”

Your Excellency, your leadership exemplifies maturity, compassion, and a brotherly commitment to the people of Taraba, particularly those in Sabon-Gida Lissam. By appointing Dr. Filister Irarimam Musa, you have demonstrated a commitment to placing capable and upright leaders in positions of influence. Her transformative work reflects your vision for a prosperous Taraba

A Humble Appeal

As we celebrate these milestones, we humbly appeal for your kind consideration in the rehabilitation of the Sabon-Gida to Kunkufxang Lissam road. This critical infrastructure project will enhance connectivity, boost economic activities, and improve access to essential services, further solidifying the developmental gains in our community.

A Prayer for Continued Wisdom

Ephesians 1:16: “Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.”

Your Excellency, we remain eternally grateful for your unwavering dedication to Taraba’s progress. We pray for God’s wisdom, strength, and guidance as you continue to harness the natural gifts of our land for the benefit of our state and nation. Your leadership inspires us, and we pledge our continued support and prayers for your success.
